When I first started Pretty Piney a couple of years ago, I wasn’t 100% sure what direction I was going to go in, but I knew I wanted a logo. My friend Lori, a talented local graphic designer, agreed exchange services: a logo for a T-shirt quilt. I was still a fairly inexperienced quilter, but I think the quilt turned out okay, and I loved the logo.

As time passed, I realized that the logo didn’t really reflect my aesthetic. I wanted something to suit a modern quilter, something with bright colors and clean lines (and also something that would be simpler to reproduce in fabric). I wanted it to be easy to rearrange to fit into the wide variety of formats required among the 800,000 sorts of social media that I participate in. So I called Lori. We had lunch. And then we e-mailed a lot. And Lori came through.
I was such a pain this time around that it’s costing me a queen-sized quilt, with a bunch of HSTs. But it will be beautiful.
If you need a graphic designer, send Lori an e-mail! (Please note that she usually doesn’t accept quilts as payment. She can’t pay to send three kids to college with quilts, even though your work IS lovely.)
