FTC DisclosureBorder Quilt Quilt Along buttonI finished the final border of flying geese in plenty of time to post two weeks ago (when I was supposed to), but it has been INCREDIBLY challenging to get a good picture. The weather has been uncooperative, and the top is too big for me to get a decent indoor pic–but now that we’ve reached the end of the quilt-along, I’m just going to share what I’ve got!

Border Quilt Quilt AlongBorder #12

I prepared all of my flying geese in advance of a retreat in early November–I thought. It turns out that going scrappy was an advantage when I discovered that I was four geese short of a border! (That has a nice ring to it, and may be my new slogan for the days when I clearly haven’t had enough coffee.) I purchased a little fabric and whipped up those last four geese in no time.

See? You can’t spot the geese made from fabrics that weren’t in the initial pull.

Next Steps

I don’t know about you, but I’m brainstorming how to quilt this and coming up with a gazillion ideas. I may end up just doing an all-over pattern, though, with so many fabrics competing for attention.

I’m thrilled with how this turned out! Do you think I should make another one in a different colorway?
