A group of quilters who gather monthly at our LQS has a UFO challenge going. We all made lists of up to 12 projects that need finishing. (I gathered up 10 unfinished objects, photographed them, and added numbers.)

UFO list
I’m putting a sticker on each project as I finish it!

Our group picks a number each month. February was number four.

Why does the wind always seem to pick up just when I'm ready to start taking photos? I think this was the best I could get today. Finished my wonky-set Christmas version of the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle to complete the first of 10 UFOs I plan to scratch off my list in 2018. #quilt #quilting #showmethemoda #wonky #samplerblockshuffle #ufochallenge
4. Wonky-set Moda Sampler Block Shuffle

The blocks were finished, and I had added 3/4 of the wonky borders on each one. I had to add the last borders, trim the blocks, and finish the top before opting for simple straightish line quilting and a bright red binding. I like it. I’m glad it’s done.

Next up is project #10. This is one of my older UFOs–maybe from 2012? I have the top done and the backing pieced. My goal is to get my longarm cranked up and finish the quilt by the end of March.

  1. Great idea to photo and number and draw for the month’s finish. Good luck on getting March’s finished. Feb’s is fantastic. The red binding really accents the quilt. The wonky sashing is a great idea. I forget about wonky sashings.

  2. I do the same with APQ and often choose the one I will finish in the month (some months have more time than others). It has helped me finish quite a few quilts. Good luck with your project this month!

  3. Great way to choose a project. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck on your project.
