This saucy snowman mug rug demonstrates how just a few simple shapes in just the right fabrics can create an iconic image without a lot of fuss. I especially liked how the maker (who lives in Texas, and probably doesn’t get to build many snowmen) used a shiny black fabric for the eyes. That shine (plus the cute stitched smile) adds a little dimension and life to Frosty’s face.
The use of the pop of white in the binding frames the image nicely. It reminds me of the faux flange I used for my Ransom Note mug rug–I included instructions for the binding in that tutorial which you could use for any rectangular mug rug.
