Oliso Smart Iron

Last week, I told you I’d been sick and that I was going on vacation. Sadly, I stayed sick and sent my family on vacation without me. The dog was very happy to stay home and skip the kennel. I…watched a lot of movies and drank a lot of chicken broth. But I did start feeling better toward the end of the week, and got a few things done.

Sticky Candy

I got started on quilting Sticky Candy! Here’s a teaser.

Lots of pebbles. I love pebbles!

Sketchy Quilt Progress

I still have four empty screens to sketch on. I think I know what I’ll do for two of them, I just have to get the sketches ready for quilting (all of the sketches have been based on line art or coloring pages that I found online). The other two need approval–I’m going to take pictures my kids have drawn and add them with their names and the ages/years when they drew them. The kids are excited about this, but I think one of them is going to take FOREVER to decide what picture it’s okay for me to use.

I got caught up to myself today, so it’s time for another marathon of blocks.

I’m using only fabrics that I dyed specifically for this challenge.

Plans for This Week

More of the same–the kids go back to school this week, so hopefully I’ll get back into a good routine. I also have to start sewing hanging sleeves like crazy since my guild show is coming up, and I’m entering quilts for my mom and my kids as well as my own.
Side note: today is the final day of Craftsy’s Labor Day sale–up to 50% off supplies. I’m stocking up on thread for all this free motion quilting I’ve got going on.

  1. I am sorry you had to stay home but better than traveling while sick. I am sure puppy was entirely okay with the plan. I am enjoying the etch-a-sketch blocks and hope you enjoyed some time to catch up on the feeling better side of things.
