It’s time to share What I Made for What I Made Monday! Share a link at the bottom of the post to show everyone what you made, too.
Exciting news arrived this week!
After watching the adventures of several friends who’ve been Island Batik Ambassadors in past years, I decided to take the plunge and apply to join the program for 2019. My adventure started this week with the arrival of a couple of large boxes, whose contents shall be revealed to you in the beginning of February. Let me tell you, I’ve never seen so much goodness packed into cardboard.
I was way overdue for new headshots anyway, so I texted my lifelong friend, Beth, who happens to be a wonderful photographer and a fellow quilter. (Check her out on Instagram. She’s @swandiva.) So, here’s me. Very similar to my 10-years-ago headshot, but with more tinsel.
My main machine went in for scheduled service, so I got lots of practice with my “new” Featherweight this week. With two projects to make for the Turnabout Patchwork blog hop, I decided to keep the items small. I finished the tops for both (a baby quilt and a pillow), but stopped there, preferring to quilt them on the Bernina. Road trip through the snow today to pick her up!
My days to post in the Turnabout Patchwork blog hop are February 1 and 2.
Sherri Noel’s book, Text It!: Quilts and Pillows with Something to Say, offers plenty of options to customize your projects. I took advantage of that with the coffee-related wall hanging that I got appliqued (fused, so far) this past week. My day to post in the Text It! blog hop is March 13.
Plans for This Week
I’m picking up the Notorious BQE today, and plan to put her through the paces immediately by finishing off those two Turnabout Patchwork projects.
