Magnolia Mystery Quilt

I said last week that my only plans were to go to QuiltCon and take lots of pictures. Well, when I should have been packing, instead I pulled out a forgotten UFO. Cheryl Brickey of Meadow Mist Designs started the Magnolia Mystery Quilt-Along in 2017. I quilted along enthusiastically for a few steps, but something important must have come up–and I stopped. It really must have been important, because I loved my fabric choices and it wasn’t a difficult pattern. Anyway, I got most of the queen-sized top done before leaving for Nashville. I just have to add the two borders.

Plans for This Week

Tomorrow is the big announcement of the next Partners in Design quilt-along theme. Watch for that, plus a write-up of my experiences at QuiltCon. Sewing-wise, I plan to put the borders on the Magnolia Mystery quilt and start quilting the March Island Batik project.

  1. Looking forward to hearing about your QuiltCon experience. My Magnolia Mystery top is done and is languishing in my UFO pile until I can get it to my longarmer. I need to get caught up on my QALs this week, or at least try to!

    1. I’ve got the post scheduled and ready to go on Thursday! The Magnolia QAL was fun, and I love the top, but I know I’m going to stress about how to quilt it. Can’t wait to see yours. Good luck catching up with your QALs!

  2. One more time, so much fun to meet you. I love the Meadow Mystery Quilt! I did one and really enjoyed it – missed catching up with Cheryl over the weekend. Anyway, back to sewing tomorrow, blogged for tomorrow today – still catching up. The bruise is an ever changing landscape, hoping it will calm down soon!

    1. It was wonderful to meet you! I spotted Cheryl, but haven’t had a chance to meet her yet. I’ve been blogging, newslettering, and photographing like mad, but I’m dying to get back to sewing. Tomorrow! (I’m sure the bruise will be a memory in no time.)
