What I Made Monday with Pretty Piney

It’s time to share What I Made for What I Made Monday! Share a link at the bottom of the post to show everyone what you made, too.

Liberty of London Half Square Triangles

I took a look at my stash and decided to use Essex linen as the background to add some texture to the Liberty tana lawn mini that I’m working on. Piecing is underway.

Island Batik Ambassador April Challenge

The next Island Batik Ambassador challenge (a baby quilt made using the AccuQuilt Ready Set GO dies) is ready for quilting. The Road to Oklahoma block makes great secondary patterns. Watch for the full color reveal in early April!

Stuffed Bunny

One of the bags that I bid on and won at my guild’s “mystery” auction contained a kit to make a stuffed bunny from a panel. Now, I don’t have anyone in my life right now who would appreciate and love a handmade bunny the way she should be, but the guild’s boutique table would be a perfect place for her to find a home. Please, no one ever ask me to make a stuffed animal. I didn’t enjoy it. But isn’t she cute?

Kim Edith of Stitchbook Studio has been running a stitchbook sewalong on Facebook. I’m following my own plan and creating a book of the herbs that I’ll be planting this spring. Basil is underway…there’s lots more to add to this page.

Birds on a Thread Mask Challenge

The next 12″ x 12″ challenge theme for my local art quilt group: Mask. I’m keeping it mostly under wraps until it’s finished, but as I often do, I chose a quote for inspiration. This one is from Alice Walker’s collection “In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens”.

Plans for This Week

Quilting the Road to Oklahoma baby quilt, adding layers to the stitchbook, and piecing the Liberty mini.

    1. Thank you! I’m crossing my fingers that my hand-stitching is up to the task of meeting my vision for the stitchbook.

  1. Hi Becca! Ooh, I can’t wait to see the baby quilt made from the Road to Oklahoma block. That black and white tease sure looks pretty. And that linen fabric – holy moly it does add a lot of texture. Very pettable. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Becca, I hope it’s okay to share what I am “trying” to make. Though enjoying the process too.
This is a great post with lots to inspire. I love Liberty Fabrics and that applique class by Carolyn has caught my eye. Thanks!

  3. Hi Becca, the bunny looks great, but I understand about not wanting to make more – it’s not my kind of thing either! I really like your stitchbook. That could be a lot of fun. Good luck with all of those half square triangles!
